A strong cardio base serves two purposes, says Michael J. Alaia, MD, a sports medicine surgeon at NYU who treats ski injuries. “You’ll need stamina to ski long runs repeatedly throughout the day,” he says. “Cardiovascular fitness also helps your body adjust to the demands of exercising at altitude.”
This show airs every Monday night from 6-8pm on Sirius XM Channel 81 with repeats throughout the week and enables callers from throughout the country to call in and discuss orthopaedic problems with real physicians at the NYU Langone Medical Center.
